Dear Friends,
Hello, and thank you for visiting the website for the T.J. Martell Foundation for Leukemia, Cancer and AIDS Research. My name is Laura Heatherly, and I am honored to be taking over as CEO after several years as Executive Director of the Southern Region. We have a lot of new and exciting plans for 2011 and 2012, and we hope you will join us for some of these terrific events to raise vital funds for research across the country.
This fall will be a busy time for us, kicking off with the Best Cellars Celebrity Dinner at River Oaks Country Club in Houston on Tuesday, September 13th. The 3rd Annual Los Angeles Family Day will be held that weekend on Sunday, September 18th at CBS Studios Back Lot. Then on Monday, October 3rd we will hold the Wirtgen America Golf Classic at Gaylord Springs Golf Links in Tennessee, and on Friday, October 14th we are excited to celebrate our 4th Annual Los Angeles Wine Dinner at the Beverly Hills Hotel, a fun, intimate affair. Continuing a tradition of excellence, we will again hold our Atlanta’s Best Cellars Dinner on Saturday, October 15th. |

The last weekend in October will be a big one for Foundation supporters across the country. We will hold one of our signature events, the Dunkin’ Donuts Baskin-Robbins Family Day Presented by Parallel Entertainment Los Angeles, at The Curb Event Center at Belmont University in Nashville, and will also have a team participating in the Rock ‘N Roll Los Angeles Half-Marathon on October 30th.
In New York, our 36th Annual Honors Gala will be celebrated on Thursday, November 3rd at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. We are thrilled to be honoring Coca-Cola North America Chief Sustainability Officer, Ms. Bea Perez with the Humanitarian of the Year Award, Big Machine Label Group CEO Mr. Scott Borchetta with the Spirit of Excellence Award, golf legend and philanthropist Mr. Arnold Palmer with the Lifetime Philanthropic Award, and comedian Mr. Drew Carey with the Chairman’s Award. This is sure to be a very special evening!
We are excited to bring back the ARTWORKS for the Cure event for its second year in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 13th. This is the start of a busy week for the foundation nationwide, as the 8th Annual World Tour of Wine Dinner will be held Thursday, November 17th at the Tribeca Rooftop in New York. Then the third Country on the Beach event will be held in Puerto Vallarta November 17th-20th featuring Montgomery Gentry, LoCash Cowboys, Ray Scott and more!
We have a very hard-working staff coordinating these events and assisting our supporters in every way. Please visit each region’s Contact page and know that we are here to help you with anything you might need.
The T.J. Martell Foundation has provided over $250 million for research in the past 36 years; this year we are funding eleven excellent hospitals across the United States. Our talented research doctors have made incredible progress in fields like leukemia, breast cancer, prostate cancer, neuroblastoma, brain cancer, colon cancer, stomach cancer, bladder cancer, multiple myeloma, psycho-oncology and AIDS. I hope you will take a moment to click on the research tab to read more about our outstanding research centers and the life-saving work we are funding.
Please join us – we can not win this fight without you.
